Meriden Hyundai
I had a great experience at Meriden hyundai. Javier was wonderful. Very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
6 week lead-time for an oil/filter change for my Genesis. Really? The last one, in the early Spring, was 5 weeks. Last Fall it was 4 weeks. Total unacceptable! I called Genesis of Milford and they have open appointments same day and any day next week. I will take my service to Genesis of Milford from now on. The Genesis of Milford service advisors are more polite and professional as well. Calls to the Service Department are often unanswered, and when you leave a message, you frequently do not get a call-back. Their Sales Department gets a 4/5 rating. Their Service Department gets a 1/5.
I took my car in on a recall and asked them to see if the car needed anything. They said I needed the front brakes replaaced, so I figued I may as well get it done since I was already there and I had the day off. They said that I needed the brake fluid changed as well so I said okay. Over 4 hours later and i was the last customer to leave, they came to me and said that by mistake they did the rear brakes as well but since they told me the front only, they would not charge me. I asked if they did the rotors and they said yes so I didn't question the price of $597.63. Two months later the car was making a noise so I brought it to another service place where they could look at it immediately without having to wait for an appointment. They told me that only the brake pads had been replaced by Meriden Hyundai. They did not touch the rotors and basically overcharged me for front and rear when they said that due to their mistake would only charge me for the front brakes. And I was in the waiting room all afternoon when the job should have taken about only 1 hour. They lied to me, overcharged me, and kept me waiting for over 4 hours.
I wish you could leave zero stars. The dealership damaged my vehicle, and today the owner, Tod Moynihan, actually yelled in my face after they’ve had my car for two months. It started with an oil change where they said my radiator was cracked. While replacing the radiator they damaged my bumper. The autobody shop did such a bad job fixing it there was overspray on my lights, the color wasn’t even close to matching, and the bumper wasn’t put back on correctly. The owner, Todd Moynihan actually said,” looks perfect to us!” They didn’t update me at all during this whole process. At one point, they had my car back for 2 days and never called me. I had to call them after tracking my own car through the app. I asked when they were going to call me and let me know I could come pick it up, and they had no response. After going to pick my car up for the second time, it was somehow worse than the first time. The service Manager, Bub Dowd, offered to repaint the bumper for a third time, I left my car there for the GM, Harold Oliver, to get involved. I was told on a Friday that Harold Oliver wasn’t available, and he would reach out to me. I emailed him on Monday, and he didn’t respond to multiple messages. After several emails and a voicemail, they got back to me on Friday. Now they’ve had my car (that I’m still making monthly payments on) for an additional week. I went in to meet with Tod Moynihan and Harold Oliver. Not only did they refuse to do anything, they had the audacity to yell at me. Tod actually leaned across his desk, raised his hands and yelled in my face. This after breaking my car during a radiator fix, holding on to it for 2+ months, diminishing the value of my car by making it look like it was fixed from a front end collision, and not communicating with me. Tod ended up throwing me out of his office for simply trying to have a conversation with him and even threatening to call the police. The xxxx bags even went as far as to bump into my brother in law and claim, "he pushed me" and start something that way. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE TO THIS DEALERSHIP! They truly DO NOT care about their customers and throughout this process tried brushing me off hoping I would just go away, probably because I am a female. The ownership is disgusting, and it really does trickle down to the management level.
My overall experience at meriden hyundai was a poor one. Aside from the lack of communication my vehicle was sold to me with several issues. many of them overlooked by the dealer throughout their "safety inspection" and issues caused by the dealer themselves. To begin with they removed the tint on the windshield and left glue residue all over the dashboard, seats and center console. On my drive home the tire pressure light came on and upon inspection one of the tires had sidewall damage as if it had been driven on while flat, which was frustrating because the delivery was delayed for a separate tire issue so I don't understand how this was overlooked. The tpms light coming on was caused by a loose valve stem from the other tire they had replaced. I immediately contacted them and they ordered a tire and never contacted when it arrived. I ended up picking the tire up myself since the only time they could accommodate me would involve taking time off from work. At this point I had found several other issues with the vehicle including the front brake rotors being grooved, also frustrating because they replaced the rears which was part of the delivery delay. Disconnected vacuum lines in the engine bay potentially causing lean engine conditions and harming the motor. Also loose clamps on separate vacuum lines. I have called to speak to a Manger about this and never heard back. I expected much more being a franchise dealer and this being a specialty vehicle. I'd recommend anyone purchasing from them to do your due diligence prior to finalizing the deal.
Scheduled my 6 weeks in advance of a recall service. They reassured me my parts would be there. When my was serviced they didn't finished the job because low and behold had to order the part they didn't have. How do you not have a part when you have a 6 week advance time? Service here stinks.Service manager is lame and has no customer relations ability.
Have always serviced my 2017 Elantra car here. On July 8 I tried to schedule oil change. First available date: 1st week in October. Three month wait!!!!! This is not the service they promised when I bought my car. This is terrible. I would give them zero stars.
You buy a new car. Expect to not have probs. Lol. They can’t figure out how to fix a 2022 the past 4 months it’s been there more than it’s been in my driveway. First 2 time didn’t even get a loaner.
In addition to putting a heavily fragranced "deodorizer" product called Frigi-fresh in my HVAC system without my consent (I'm highly allergic to fragrance), they also didn't fix my brakes. I took my car there in April for my 120k service and because my brakes were grinding and I was feeling like it wasn't safe. They failed to note my concerns in their system, even though the brakes issue was what I stressed was the most important thing. Turns out they only "lubricated and reassembled" front and rear brakes. They assured me at pickup, when I asked, that my brakes were fine and safe. Not quite two months later I had to stop driving my car until I could take it to my local non-dealership garage. There they had to replace front brakes and rotors, and it would have been obvious back in April that my brakes were not okay. This place is a scam, they don't do the services they say they do, and I don't trust them at all. I've never had a worse experience. Go to the one in Watertown instead.
Service department scamming unsuspecting people. Went 4 oil change. New car. Manager said eeded brakes
So once again disappointment in the service department. Brought my car in for an oil change which was a freebie because of the last time I was there. Nothing noted in my chart about it but the gentleman at the service desk honored it for me. I even mentioned it when I made the appointment but still not noted. After I left I noticed 2 plugs on my seat that were not put back where they should have been. Since I had already left I needed to go back and have it taken care of. If my car didn't still have a warranty I would never ever go back there again. I'm thinking this is my first and last Hyundai.
Terrible place to go. You call a dealership with a car emergency and they don't take you in to fix it because you "aren't their customer" and didn't purchase your car at that location. The people all here are extremely rude, and I don't recommend this service.
i'll never understand car dealerships. My family has been buy an leasing cars from Meriden Hyundai for almost 10 years. Yesterday I take my son in to buy his own first car and the business manager treated us like dirt! Note: My wife leased a new car last week. The business manger wanted $4000 down and 16% interest... on a $20000 car... used as well. When I tried to negotiate he said the credit score was in the 500 range so I pulled up my sons score 694 and showed him... he made a lame excuse... we got up and walked out. Sad to say we will find another dealership. He insulted me in front of my son, what kid of man does that?
Kathy in the service department went above and beyond for me when my car recently was serviced!! I highly recommend this dealership, and will use again in the future!!
